Medicare Part A

Hospital Insurance: Part A covers inpatient hospital stays, care in a skilled nursing facility, hospice care, and some home health care.

Medicare Part C

Also known as Medicare Advantage, Part C plans are offered by Medicare-approved private companies and are another way to get your Part A and Part B coverage.

Medicare Part B

Medical Insurance: Part B covers services from doctors and other health care providers, outpatient care, and many preventive services.

Medicare Part D

Medicare drug coverage (Part D) helps cover the cost of prescription drugs and may help lower your costs.

01
Getting Started

Medicare is health insurance for people 65 or older. You may be eligible to get Medicare earlier if you have a disability.

02
Original Medicare

Once you have Part A and/or Part B, you have Original Medicare. Most people add prescription coverage by choosing to join a Medicare drug (Part D) plan.

03
Medicare Advantage

You can choose to join a Medicare Advantage or other Medicare health plan instead of Original Medicare.

04
Enrollment Periods

Your Initial Enrollment Period starts 3 months before the month you turn 65 and ends 3 months after. The Annual Enrollment Period runs from October 15 to December 7 each year.

05
Your Rights

Treated with courtesy, dignity and respect at all times. Protected from discrimination. Every company or agency that works with Medicare must obey the law.

06
What’s Important?
